DipIMC January 2027: dates and revision timeline
The January 2027 diet of the RCSEd Diploma in Immediate Medical Care runs from 26 to 29 January 2027. These are the dates the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care publishes. Where anything here differs from the College's own pages, the College is right: check the exam details page for closing dates and to book.

- Closing date: the College publishes it on the exam details page. Places are limited and, after PHEM trainees, allocated in strict order of application, so apply early.
- Written paper venue: the College's review notes that Part A may be delivered online, at home or in a regional test centre (Review of the DIMC and FIMC exams 2014–2023, p. 7).
- Fee: £798 for the exam, as listed on 26 September 2026. There is no postponement: you withdraw and re-apply, and the College keeps a 20% administrative fee. See fees, attempts and withdrawal.
Count down to Part A
Set January 2027 as your exam date on the Profile page in the app: the header and your dashboard count down to Part A, and your Plan's deadlines follow it. It is off until you choose a date.

You may sit the two parts at the same diet or at different ones, and a part passed on its own stays valid for three subsequent diets (Regulations 1.4).
A revision timeline from October
A suggested shape for the last four months. Move it to suit your shifts.
- October: find your gaps. Sit a 60-question paper in Exam mode as a baseline. Your dashboard shows a score for each of the seven domains, and the Plan recommends work on the weakest two.
- November: work through the curriculum. Take the curriculum unit by unit, with a 10-question drill on each and the sources behind every wrong answer added to your reading list.
- December: stations. Add one or two timed stations a day, 8-minute ones first, then the 16-minute resuscitation and trauma stations. Practise hands-on with colleagues and the Sandpiper bag list as well.
- January: exam conditions. Timed papers in Exam mode, a minute a question, and the reading list for whatever still goes wrong. Read how to pass the OSPE the week before.
On the day
- Bring photo ID: a passport or driving licence.
- Part A: smart casual dress.
- Part B: it is patient-facing. You may wear overalls, but cover any markings that show your profession, employer or sponsors (Regulations sections 5 and 6).
